However rumours surrounding their performance at Glastonbury were triggered last month, when Arcade Fire announced an US arena tour which included a notable tour break in between June 22 and July 30. A few weeks later, they dropped hints on Jo Whiley's BBC Radio 2 show about a potential Glastonbury slot. When frontman Win Butler was asked whether they would be appearing at any UK festivals by the host, he replied: "Yeah, I hope so. It's a special experience."
